		<description>Unfortunately, faxes can be thrown off by differences in international telephone signalling and also associated differences in national fax standards (I worked for 18 years in telecoms and let me say that standards in this area is a nightmare; even when there are standards, different telephone operators and equipment manufacturers interpret them differently due to ambiguity). 

As a result of such differences, I can fax some but not all countries and can receive faxes from some but not all countries (the countries which I cannot send to are not exactly the same as the ones I cannot receive from). My fax is several years old so maybe newer standards have improved this situation (I don&#039;t know). However, it is very possible for someone to have a fax that works great in-country but does not always work internationally. Perhaps this is the case with the company you are trying to reach.
