Blog or post?

You are viewing a blog – a series of articles or posts that make up the blog. This particular piece you are reading is a post or blogpost.
One of my pet peeves, although only little, is people who ask about writing blogs when they actually mean posts or articles.
It’s just a little thing but I feel it important to educate people – a blog is a collective of posts, thoughts, articles, entries, whatever but the individual items are the blog posts – not the blog.

The answer is the latter. It is a post. Also, i agree with you, a blog is a collective of posts. The context of these posts could be articles, thoughts, views or even personal experience. The blog is the totality of the site owned by the blogger.
You are quite right. I usually say “blog post” to make it clear to anyone who may be confused.
I do however say “blogging” when what I really mean is “writing a blog post” or “adding a new post to my blog”. Perhaps the language is in flux, evolving?
Occasionally I have even been so careless as to refer to “my latest blog” meaning “my latest post”.
I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it. I usually say I’ve been ‘blogging’. Although, using just the term ‘post’ doesn’t explain where you’ve written the post – it could be in a forum or other site, so saying you’re writing a ‘blogpost’ explains you’ve written a post for (presumably) your own blog.
Yes, I say I ‘blog’ or love ‘blogging’ but I don’t say I’m writing a blog when I mean a post. I had someone the other day email me to make a comment about my blog – and they actually meant a post I’d written for the blog.
Perhaps, the demarcation is still evolving. At times, I end up posting an article in my blog! Post may be the right word but not many care?
I love blogging but in order for me to be consider a blogger I need to create a series of post. When you post something in your blog that could be an article, an opinion or news whatever you want it but a post cannot be blog. You are right that a blog is a series of posts.
